About Me
Deanna Seeff is an accredited BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) Counsellor with over 20 years of experience of which she spent 15 years as a Secondary School Counsellor.

Why I became a Counsellor …
I became a counsellor because I believe I have an innate ability to relate positively to people of different languages, cultures, backgrounds and ages. This gift and my skills allow me to improve the lives of those who are experiencing unhappiness.
My Background …
After qualifying as a Counsellor in the early 2000s, following a career in business and retail management, I now have over 20 years experience. I spent 15 years as a Secondary School Counsellor at two schools and privately counselled many individuals at my office in St Neots.
My Approach to Counselling …
My belief is that each individual is unique in their own right. I recognise and am sensitive to different cultural and ethnic backgrounds and respect individuals’ religious beliefs. I conduct all counselling in a non-judgmental framework.
The first counselling session for a new client will take the form of an assessment. Whereby, I will be able to familiarise myself with the issues troubling the person and to determine the best way to manage the therapy. This assessment will be discussed with the client and will also afford them the opportunity to decide whether or not they wish to embark on further counselling sessions.

Trust is an essential component of the relationship between the counsellor and the client. I treat all information shared as confidential. However, confidentiality will be broken if my client becomes a danger to themselves or to others. I then reserve the right to inform other appropriate agencies to safeguard my client’s safety. If this is necessary, I will always inform my client of such a decision.
Following each session, I keep brief notes on the work undertaken with my clients and these can be seen or read at any time during sessions on request.
I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics and Guidelines and I am bound by the “Ethical Framework for Counsellors and Code of Conduct”. The BACP Ethical Framework, in keeping with good practice, requires that all counsellors are supervised by trained counselling supervisors where confidentiality is respected.
